All right, ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to give you a reason to visit this little place more than once a week. The weekend T10FB’s will, of course, remain our signature posts, but now you can jog your memory every day.
Most of the T10FB’s contain what I call the “oh, wow” song of the week, or lost 45. The vast majority of songs that make the top 40 spend a few weeks on the charts, peak somewhere in the teens or twenties, then get tossed on the scrap heap, never to be heard again. Hell, many songs that reached #1 suffered this fate. The “oh, wow” song is one that deserved better, one that you might like if someone would actually play the damned thing. One that makes you say “oh, wow! Haven’t heard that in 40 years!”
Some days I might substitute an “oh, no” song, one that would have made the world a better place if only someone had burned the master tape. The good old days weren’t always good, and we’re here to document the music of your life, warts and all. You might even enjoy hearing these songs again.
There may also be various rants about pop music, both from today and back in the day. This would happen if and when the mood strikes me, and they will stay within the scope of this blog. You didn’t come here to read about my politics or the news; there are many places you can go for that. I’m a car enthusiast as well, but I’ll keep that off these pages. Lots of places you can go for that, too, and most of them do a better job that I would.
So enjoy the new features and come back every day for more!
